A complete subscription billing solution contains and integrates several key infrastructure pieces in the full ecosystem. Vindicia's billing system either provides or easily integrates with all ecosystem components, including:

• Merchant Web Site - Site where the merchant's service/product information is displayed, and from where the service and product can be ordered by customers.
• Billing Solution - A homegrown or outsourced service through which merchants can define billing plans, issue refunds, create payment retry schedules, and even manage chargebacks. The billing solution automatically matches the customer account with the payment method, billable amount and creates a transaction that gets sent to the payment processor for authorization and subsequent funding.

• Payment Processor - Infrastructure provider for transaction processing, customer support and billing on behalf of acquirers. Payment processors may also serve as an Acquiring Bank.
• Acquiring Bank - Entity licensed by Visa and MasterCard to offer merchant accounts. They may operate their own infrastructure to process transactions or use a 3rd party
• Payment Gateway - A gateway is a technology solution that provides a connection to a merchant's payment processor. Some 3rd party billing solutions and most in-house billing systems use gateways to submit transactions from a merchant's site to their payment processors.
