  • Design, implement and maintain highly redundant and scalable cloud and on-premise infrastructure
  • Identify and create solutions in areas where automation can be used to improve technical process
  • Improve and maintain monitoring and notification infrastructure
  • Work to harden, enhance, document, establish process and generally improve the operability and supportability of our systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve live production issues
  • Work with management to establish and document controls and procedures
  • Excellent communication and strong systems- and application-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proactively identify problems that need attention, taking initiative to resolve them within our defined process and change management system
  • Orientation toward continuous improvement with the goal of never seeing the same problem twice
  • Must be able to participate in on-call rotation


  • Programming using best practices in Perl or Python, and Bash
  • Strong system administration background for Linux based systems
  • Experience using container technologies in a production environment (Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes)
  • Comfortable with networking fundamentals (networking/routing/firewalls)
  • Experience using cloud providers such as AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Comfortable with a 24x7x365 always-up, always available production service
  • Must be able to adjust to constant business change, including new requirements and emerging technologies

Preferred skills

  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with AWS services (RDS, EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, Route53 etc.)
  • Knowledge of micro services in a production environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of SQL/Databases
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or Ansible
